Yogurt, take 2

Another yogurt try.   This one with larger (half-pint) jars. I think the yogurt cultures are getting nicer, or something.  The slightly warm yogurt was much less ICK inducing than the first batch.  and seemed smoother.  I am liking it.   Totally glad I got my pot for it.  LOL Next time, BIG BATCH! But have to get through 2 pints of it before I do that.  which reminds me.  I don't remember if I put the 5th jar into the fridge.  I had.   Got some frozen peaches, chopped 'em up and mixed it in.  Watered down a bit.  I will have to watch that.   we'll see what happens next in the adventures of IP

Pork is Yummy

I made this in the basic crock pot.   Well, technically, JOHN made this in the crock pot.  I just bought the meat. I cut it with that spoon.  and shredded it, with that spoon.   Be well, enjoy the little things.

Cake (times 2)

I decided to see how the instant pot did at cake.   Not too bad.  It's a bit dense.  I made a comparison cake out of the remainder of the batter, since the pot can only handle a small pan.   They both taste alright.  Not gonna rave and say it's the best thing ever.  Instant Pot Cake Oven Baked Cake You can see the difference between the two.  The IP cake is definitely much denser.  I think it's because it did absorb water, which the baked cake did not have a chance to do.  Its moist, but not significantly more than the baked one.  Honestly, with as much set up as it takes, I don't think cake making is something I'm gonna be doing much of in the IP.  Just not worth it.  But I did order a cake pan, just incase.  'Cuz of course I did.  :D I'll keep ya'll posted on my adventures, as they happen.

Blooming Onion and Teriyaki Rotisserie Chicken

January 6, 2021 Firstly, YAY! 2020 is GONE Second, as I type this, Trump's asshole goons attempted a coup in DC. Not starting out great. But, that being said, I am making a Blooming Onion for dinner tonight.  :) Along with a rotisserie chicken with teriyaki marinade. I followed the recipe in the starter cook book which came with the air crisper lid.   Flour, with seasoning. It said Cajun, I used Creole.  (sue me, I like it more) couple eggs mixed up with buttermilk. panko, with a dash of salt (it didn't say to season, but that's not quite against my religion, but it's close) First, I shoved a skewer into the bottom part of the onion, to prevent over cutting.  Cut it to the skewer, probably a good 6-8 times.  first quarters, then each quarter bit a few times.  I honestly didn't count. Then took out the skewer and plopped the onion into the flour.  Opened up the 'petals' a bit, so the flour could get in.   Then I put it into the egg.  I might have wound up wi
